On the east coast of the U.S., the newly-formed band, Deft Color, is generating a big buzz! This unique group was created by two artists that come from completely different sides of the tracks. Philip Albin, a multi-instrumentalist/vocalist and David Williamson (aka Dot), a renowned lyricist/vocalist/performer, have effectively fused a dynamic Rock and dirty Blues feel with an edgy hard core Rap/Hip Hop element that tells a story unlike any ever told!
Deft Color was formed when Albin and Dot met while pursuing careers in aerospace. Having both previously recorded and performed independently and for different groups, they immediately discovered that their chemistry and combined creativity was unlike anything they had ever experienced! Although they come from different backgrounds in life and in music, their passion, work ethic, and stories they’ve shared from all over the world have cemented an artistic bond.
Albin has written and produced full studio albums in three of his separate groups, played in various music festivals in Europe and Asia and performs the National Anthem on the guitar for large civic and official events. Dot found success in his solo music career when he was stationed in Japan, as he gained notoriety as a featured artist on the well-known music blog site, Hip Hop DX. He also toured and performed with Roscoe Dash, Lloyd, Iyaz, Trinidad James, Snootie Wild, Dorrough Music, and Fabo from D4L.
